Uniform Synthetics manufactures different types of resins including rosin modified phenolic resin, ketonic resin, pure phenolic resins,
and rosin esters. The core of Uniform
Synthetics is Sustainable Development. All products are manufactured using the 12 basic Green Principles of
Chemistry. Proper waste management and disposal procedures are followed to minimize environmental pollution.
The two types of rosin modified phenolic resins manufactured at Uniform Synthetics are PR-140 and PR-142. Both
these resin types are fully soluble in both aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons as well as in higher alcohols
and ketones. These reins are compatible with rosin-based resins, tall oil alkyd resins and vegetable oil. They
are ideal for manufacture of lithographic inks, letter press inks, OPV, hard drying varnish primers and paints.
The characteristic effect of rosin modified phenolic resins on the formulation and end product are:
- Imparts gloss, adhesion, and oil resistance
- Elevates wetting, polishing and solid content
- Improves finish, drying and hardness
- Enhances light resistance, levelling and wetting
Rosin modified phenolic resins are used in rotary offset printing, offset newspaper printing and sheet-fed
offset printing as it delivers a clean printed surface with minimal or nil bleeding and ink scattering. It also
delivers high gloss results. The drying properties of this phenol can withstand high speed printing, which is
another reason for its use in printing inks.
